Stay tuned for our insider Colin Stephen Quality 2025 Tips on The Metropolitan Handicap lead-up this spring.

  • To Win: No. 7 Juja Kibo ($2.40 at time of publish) – BET NOW

JUJA KIBO (8) from the Ciaron Maher yard looks a hard to beat favourite in the first Group race on Golden Rose Day. It’s a small nine-horse field of spring stayers and this Irish bred Belardo gelding looks right up to the challenge of a rise in grade after saluting at this track and trip a fortnight back. With a hefty 59.5kg on his back he was enormous putting nearly two lengths on his closest rival in a BM78 off a confident on-speed performance and will be flying back to just 55.5kg this weekend. Rosehill is his pet track and he’s two-from-two here ahead of Saturday. Lightly raced, this is his 10th start and he oozes upside. Needs to prove he’s a Group horse and I expect him to do just that ahead of a tougher spring assignment in something like the Group 1 The Metropolitan.
