The Reisling Stakes – previously known as the Reisling Slipper Trial, is a 1200m sprint race held at Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse on Randwick Guineas Day during the autumn.

The Golden Slipper on March 21 is being considered for Annabel & Rob Archibald’s exciting filly Chayan ($3.10) who atoned for a luckless Blue Diamond performance when racing away late to dominate Sydney’s 2026 Reisling Stakes results on Saturday. James McDonald jumped aboard the progressive daughter of I Am Invincible and rated her ideally settling off speed before flashing home down the outside and drawing away to win by nearly three lengths.

Contested by two-year-old fillies only, the set weights race requires the young racing hopefuls to carry 55.5kg. Worth $300,000 in prize money, the Group 2 race is a great lead up race to the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) with the winner of the Reisling Stakes winner exempt from ballot for the $5 million event.
The equivalent race for colts and geldings is the Group 2 Todman Stakes (1200m) run at the same race meeting that his headlined by the $1 million Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) and $750,000 Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m).
The Magic Night Stakes (1200m) held a week later at Rosehill is another option for the Reisling Stakes graduates on way to the Golden Slipper.
Recent fillies to complete the Reisling Stakes – Golden Slipper double include Estijaab (2018), Overreach (2013) and Polar Express (2003). In 2017 the Reisling Stakes winner Frolic ran second in the Golden Slipper Stakes, won by the Reisling Stakes runner-up She Will Reign who further franked the form.
The 2025 Reisling Stakes winner, Tempted, ran a next-up third in the Golden Slipper trifecta before winning the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes. She further franked the form in the spring taking out the Group 2 Run to the Rose, finishing third in the Group 1 Golden Rose and placing a brave second in the $20 million The Everest.
The Reisling Stakes also produced the 2025 Golden Slipper winner with Marhoona improving on her second in the Group 2 to claim victory in the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.
The Reisling Stakes 2026 for fillies ran on Saturday March 7, 2026 as a key lead-up into the Group 1 Golden Slipper and was won in a stylish late charge home by the progressive Rob & Annabel Archibald-trained Chayan ($3.10).Â

Each Way: No. 4 Pearl Of Dubai
PEARL OF DUBAI (12) shapes as a genuine value chance in a wide-open race for the 2YO fillies, and she’s well worth a look at a big price as she chases her maiden win at start number three. The Peter Snowden-trained daughter of Wootton Bassett does have an awkward gate to contend with, but she’s trending the right way and should be competitive with a patient ride from Andrew Adkins. She kicked off her career with a strong second in the Kirkham Plate here last spring, then resumed with a solid fourth in the Group 3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill, finishing under three lengths from Chilly Girl. Blinkers go on for the first time to help sharpen her up, and the step to 1200m looks ideal based on how she’s been hitting the line. She has the versatility to either take a sit or roll forward as she did in the Widden, and if she gets the right run and has something left late, she’s more than capable of surprising a few.
