The $2 million Inglis Millennium is a lucrative Restricted Listed sprint held during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival at Royal Randwick for two-year-old Inglis graduates.
The Inglis Millennium, inaugurated in 2015 as the Inglis Classic, is a $2 million Restricted Listed feature run and won at Royal Randwick in February at the very start of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
The event is a 1100m set weights sprint for two-year-olds nominated to the Inglis Race Series that were offered for sale at any Inglis Yearling Sale.
It is the Inglis equivalent to the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) held at the Gold Coast in January.
The event underwent a number of changes ahead of the 2019 running when it was renamed from the Inglis Classic to the Inglis Millennium with prize money boosted to $2 million. The previous year the distance was reduced from 1200m to 1100m.
The Inglis Millennium currently takes place as the feature race at the meeting and is accompanied on the card by the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m).
To date Castelvecchio, who scored an upset at 20/1 when the event was held at Warwick Farm in 2019, is the most notable Inglis Millennium winner as he went on to frank the form with victories in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) that year and the 2020 Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) as a three-year-old.
The 2023 Inglis Millennium form was franked with the winning filly Learning To Fly going on to take out the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at her next race before losing her rider in the Golden Slipper that autumn.
The Inglis Millennium 2024 ran on Saturday February 10, 2024 at Royal Randwick and was won in devastating fashion by the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained favourite Fully Lit ($2.80F).

The prestigious Inglis Millennium is packed with promising two-year-olds, but Ciaron Maher’s Odinson could be poised for a big run at a slight price under the radar. This Night Of Thunder colt, fresh off a maiden win in the Inglis Nursery, already boasts impressive form. On debut, he finished a close third in a Group 3 race at Flemington, showcasing his potential. Now drawn better from barrier four (previously drawn wide last time out when winning the Inglis Nursery here at Randwick in December), he should appreciate the 1100m distance after trialling well at Warwick Farm. Don’t underestimate – he has the talent and preparation to contend for the win.
The Inglis Millennium field attracts a quality line-up of promising young Inglis graduates.
Potential lead-up races into the Inglis Millennium field include the Restricted Listed Inglis Nursery (1000m) held at Randwick and the $1 million Golden Gift (1100m) held the previous summer.
The 2024 Inglis Millennium field and barriers are set for release on Tuesday February 6, 2024 and will be published below.
The Inglis Millennium 2024 final field features a quality line-up of untapped two-year-olds with markets led by the widely-drawn Hellbent colt Fully Lit (barrier 17), coming off a 2.8 length win at the distance on debut at Rosehill, for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott.
