The $2 million Inglis Millennium is a lucrative Restricted Listed sprint held during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival at Royal Randwick for two-year-old Inglis graduates.
The Inglis Millennium, inaugurated in 2015 as the Inglis Classic, is a $2 million Restricted Listed feature run and won at Royal Randwick in February at the very start of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
The event is a 1100m set weights sprint for two-year-olds nominated to the Inglis Race Series that were offered for sale at any Inglis Yearling Sale.
It is the Inglis equivalent to the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) held at the Gold Coast in January.
The event underwent a number of changes ahead of the 2019 running when it was renamed from the Inglis Classic to the Inglis Millennium with prize money boosted to $2 million. The previous year the distance was reduced from 1200m to 1100m.
The Inglis Millennium now takes part as part of Randwick’s Apollo Stakes Day card. Racing at the meeting also features four Group status events including the Group 2 $250,000 Apollo Stakes (1400m) and Group 2 $250,000 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m).
To date Castelvecchio, who scored an upset at 20/1 when the event was held at Warwick Farm in 2019, is the most notable Inglis Millennium winner as he went on to frank the form with victories in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) that year and the 2020 Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) as a three-year-old.
The Inglis Millennium 2023 ran on Saturday February 11, 2023 at Royal Randwick and was won in a late charge down the outside by the undefeated favourite Learning To Fly ($4F).

Stay tuned for our insider Inglis Millennium 2023 Tips on the early Sydney autumn event this season.
Going an upset in the $2mill feature on Apollo Day with Saltaire great value at 15/1 first-up. This John O’Shea-trained Star Turn filly was terrific last time in. Narrowly defeated on debut by Blanc De Blanc (who is 2nd favourite for Saturday’s Inglis Millennium) before winning the Inglis Nursery here over 1000m in December. There wasn’t much to spare on the line in the Nursery, but she’s improving and has had a freshen-up. The top fancied are all drawn right out in the carpark so she can follow those in and work her way to the front at the right time. Looks overs and can surprise.
The Inglis Millennium field attracts a quality line-up of promising young Inglis graduates.
Potential lead-up races into the Inglis Millennium field include the Restricted Listed Inglis Nursery (1000m) held at Randwick and the $1 million Golden Gift (1100m) held the previous summer.
The 2023 Inglis Millennium field and barriers are set for release on Tuesday February 7, 2023 and will be published below.
A capacity line-up of hopeful two-year-olds faces off in the Inglis Millennium 2023 final field in Sydney on Saturday with betting led by Group 3 Widden Stakes winning Justify filly Learning To Fly who suffered an early blow drawing near the far outside.
