The Edward Manifold Stakes is a Group Two event for three year old fillies named after a committeeman of the Victorian Racing Club. Held on the same day as the Group One Turnbull Stakes, the set-weights race is a 1600m mile event held at Flemington during October.
Regarded as an ideal lead up race to the Thousand Guineas held over one weeks time at Caulfield, many of the race’s winners will also go on to the Crown Oaks with the Edward Manifold Stakes winner Serious Speed going on to place second in the Group One event in 2007.
