| Located just 5km from the heart of Adelaide, Morphettville racecourse is the premier metropolitan race track in South Australia. Although the venue?s name has been changed to ?Allan Scott Park?, it remains the home of the South Australian Jockey Club.
The track is 2339 metres in circumference and features a 334 metre long straight. The anti-clockwise course has three chutes located at the 1200, 1800 and 2000 metre marks. Since its resurfacing in 2002, the track has been rated as the best racecourse in the Southern Hemisphere. With its wide and open course, Morphettville remains one of the fairest grounds for horses to race on. Metropolitan races are held every Saturday and the venue also hosts the famous Adelaide Cup Carnival as well as the South Australia Derby and the Goodwood Handicap. Morphettville is situated on 25 hectares of picturesque gardens and offers race spectators plenty of venue options including the Adelaide Cup Room, Chairman?s Room, Diva Lounge, Leilani Room, Panasonic Pavilion and the Phar Lap room. |
