Seonee Wins Queen Of The South Stakes 2024
Seonee rolled up and joined the leader Legacy 150m out from the line before powering home to take out the 2024 Queen Of The South Stakes under the riding of Billy Egan on Saturday afternoon in South Australia.
The Patrick Payne-trained Winning Rupert mare was excellent in her first Adelaide run since the Listed Leon MacDonald Stakes that she won back in August last year.
The five-year-old had been knocking on the door this prep with back-to-back placings in Melbourne before finding her stride to claim a dominant Group 2 $250,000 Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) win over the mile at Morphettville on Robert Sangster Stakes Day.
Seonee ($6) had 1.5 lengths to spare on the line over Stephen Brown’s Lady Jones ($9), while 25/1 roughie Silent Surrente finished a further length back third to complete the trifecta.
