The Australasian Oaks is a Group 1 race run over 2000m at Morphettville Racecourse in Adelaide. Held in March during the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival, the set weight race is for the best 3 year old filly stayers in the country. Offering $300,000 in prize money the Australasian Oaks is the ideal lead up race to the Group 3 SA Oaks.

Australasian Oaks History:
The Australasian Oaks is a relatively new race which was first held in 1982. The first winner of the race was Rose Of Kingston, the dam to Melbourne Cup winner Kingston Rule. The race is known for producing great staying horses with many going on to place well in the Caulfield Cup. 2008 winner Zarita went on to beat the colts and geldings in the Group 1 SA Derby (2500m), which is held during the same carnival.
