2012 Silver Slipper Stakes Day Tips
Rosehill Gardens – Saturday March 3, 2012
Race 1 – 1:00pm Edmen Community Staffing Handicap (1200m)
- 1st – #8 Detours – $2.90 @ bookmaker.com.au
- 2nd – #6 Aerobatics – $3.90 @ bookmaker.com.au
- 3rd – #3 Revolt – $7.50 @ bookmaker.com.au
Some really smart three-year olds here but Peter Snowden’s Ad Valorem filly Detours is the deserved favourite. She has form on Heavy ground and will have come on from her first-up second on Slow ground at the track three weeks back. Aerobatics is yet to win second-up, but have good Heavy track from so definite pick for the quinella.
Race 2 – 1:40pm The Willis Australia Handicap (1800m)
- 1st – #9 Court Connection – $8.50 @ bookmaker.com.au
- 2nd – #2 Charing Cross – $3.90 @ bookmaker.com.au
- 3rd – #5 Big Time – $6.50 @ bookmaker.com.au
With these conditions over 1800m, don’t want anything drawn on the inside or carrying too much weight that’s why we fancy an upset over the favourite Charing Cross and have Court Connection rated special to win.
Race 3 – 2:20pm Tony & Manera Lahood Fireball Quality (1100m)
- 1st – #3 Al’s Magic Miss – Bet now at bookmaker.com.au
- 2nd – #5 Nobby Snip
- 3rd – #8 Sacred Pins
Al’s Magic Miss was outclassed last start but she drops right back in class here and the 1100-metres will suit better, she has class and wet track form and can bounce back.
Race 4 – 3:00pm Endeavour Foundation Industries Parramatta Cup (2000m)
- 1st – Kontiki Park – Bet now at bookmaker.com.au
- 2nd – Praecido
- 3rd – Stand To Gain

Race 8 – 5:40pm Endeavour Foundation Recycled Clothing Handicap (1500m)
- 1st – #4 Mr Make Believe – $7 @ bookmaker.com.au
- 2nd – #6 Darci Be Good – $8 @ bookmaker.com.au
- 3rd – #9 Nextanix – $9 @ bookmaker.com.au
This is the hardest race of the day for the punters with over half the field at single-figures. Hard to split them and their form for this but surly Mr Make Believe can make it happen and improve on their last-start fifth over this track and distance on a Slow (7) against a tougher field last-start?
