The four emergencies for today’s Melbourne Group 1 have all now been officially scratched confirming the 16-starter field for the $500,000 Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) with the make-up of Flemington’s major races all unscathed so far.

In one of the first major Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival race meetings, Turnbull Stakes Day features a crack 10-race program headlined by the $500,000 Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) scheduled as Flemington Race 8 at 4:25pm (AEST).

The field features 16 runners and the Turnbull Stakes barriers have now been confirmed 100 percent with the emergencies #17 Precedence (16), #18 Waldpark (7), #19 Whisper Downs (11) and #20 Bit Of Hell (5) all officially withdrawn.

Turnbull Stakes betting is currently led by the Gai Waterhouse-trained Fiorente ($4.80) who has overtaken Melbourne Cup fancy Puissance De Lune ($5) at the top of the odds.

The Flemington race card is also supported by a triple shot of Group 2 races and all three also feature their original fields with no current withdrawals.
