The 2019 Caulfield Cup results saw the sixth internationally-trained winner of the mile and a half classic with the in-form Japanese raider Mer De Glace storming home to defeat Vow And Declare (2nd) and Mirage Dancer (3rd). Jockey Damian Lane had previously ridden the Rulership stallion to victory twice back in Japan and was thrilled to be aboard the superior stayer for his race debut down under. Mer De Glace had a length to spare on the line in the Caulfield Cup 2019 result ahead of his shot at the Group 1 $8 million Melbourne Cup (3200m) up over two miles on the first Tuesday of November.

The Caulfield Cup 2019 winner Mer De Glace was the second Japanese galloper to win the event following the success of the ill-fated Admire Ratki (2014) and overcame a wide barrier 17 of 18 draw in a capacity field.
