Wakeful Stakes 2013 – Final Field & Barrier Draw

The Group 2 Wakeful Stakes will take place at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday November 2, 2013, and the final field and barrier draw has been released for the race.

A total of 12 fillies have accepted for a run in the 2013 Wakeful Stakes final field, including Gypsy Diamond.

Gypsy Diamond has won two of her seven race starts and has earned more than $183,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.

The Not A Single Doubt filly won her last start in the Group 2 Fillies Classic at Moonee Valley on October 25, 2013, and will be looking to back up eight days later with another Group 2 win.

Gyspy Diamond has drawn barrier 10 for the 2013 Wakeful Stakes and will be ridden by jockey James McDonald in the race.

The three-year-old is trained by John O’Shea at Royal Randwick and will be attempting the 2,000 metre distance for the first time in the 2013 Wakeful Stakes.

Also included in the 2013 Wakeful Stakes final field and barrier draw is May’s Dream.

May’s Dream has won two of her five race starts in total and has earned more than $224,000 in prize money during her career.

The New Approach filly has drawn barrier nine for the 2013 Wakeful Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Nicholas Hall.

Mays Dream finished second in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas behind Guelph in her most recent race start.

Arabian Gold and Solicit are also amongst the 2013 Wakeful Stakes final field and  barrier draw acceptances.
