2010 Kingston Town Classic Odds & Betting – Playing God New Favourite

The Neville Parnham-trained Playing God has emerged as the new favourite in the 2010 Kingston Town Classic odds after betting markets on the Ascot feature reopened following the release of the final field of gallopers for this Saturday’s $500,000 Group 1 showdown.

Premier online bookmaker Luxbet have installed start three-year-old Blackfriars colt Playing God as the clear $4.40 favourite to win the Kingston Town Classic after their back-to-back wins at Ascot.

Playing God claimed a big Group race win in the Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) on November 13 and then backed up with a comprehensive victory in the Listed Aquanita Stakes (1800m) last Saturday carrying a hefty 58kg.

The conditions of the Kingston Town Classic mean Playing God will drop well back in weight on Saturday, due to carry just 52kg making them a brilliant lightweight chance.

Just two other runners in the Kingston Town Classic field are at single figure odds through Luxbet with Famous Roman paying $7 and last year’s runner-up God Has Spoken at $8.50.

The Jim Taylor-trained Famous Roman has been in terrific form for the season, winning two stakes races in a row including the Group 3 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) before finishing a close second to Gathering in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) here a fortnight ago.

God Has Spoken also has genuine claims, a full brother to Playing God the four-year-old is looking to return to the form that saw them take out the Group 3 RJ Peters Stakes (1500m) on November 13 before running a disappointing eighth in the Railway Stakes last start.

Other notable horses that will be out to cause an upset at juicy odds include quality mare Impressive Jeuney ($11), John Thompson’s Sydney raider Trusting ($11), in-form Testa Rossa four-year-old Ranger ($12) and Macau galloper Luen Yat Forever ($12).

Roughies that could rise and finish in the money adding great value to exotic selections through Luxbet include beaten Railway Stakes favourite Colour Correct ($17) and Fred Kersley’s consistent five-year-old Scenic gelding Grand Nirvana ($35).
