Today the $3 million Cox Plate takes centre stage at Moonee Valley Racecourse and Bart Cummings’ superstar So You Think remains the hot favourite in the 2010 Cox Plate Odds.
After Cox Plate betting markets have been flooded with money for So You Think to win back-to-back editions of the weight-for-age feature, overnight punters have been getting behind a number of the other runners in the 2010 Cox Plate field.
So You Think is now paying $1.60 to win at Luxbet, still a very short priced favourite, but also a slight drifter having come out from his $1.55 quote yesterday.
Zipping – $14 Luxbet
Big bets have come in for Lloyd Williams’ veteran galloper Zipping as the nine-year-old lines up in his fourth consecutive Cox Plate today. Overnight Zipping has shortened from $16 into $14 and represents excellent value, capable of an upset if So You Think is not at his best.
Will it be Fourth Time Lucky for Zipping to Win 2010 Cox Plate?
More Joyous – $6.50 Luxbet
One of the biggest Cox Plate market movers in the past day has been More Joyous. Huge bets have been laid on Gai Waterhouse’s star mare to cause an upset today, shortening her odds from $8 into $6.50.
She is well positioned, well weighted and in brilliant form, by Can More Joyous Beat So You Think in the 2010 Cox Plate?
Whobegotyou – $16 Luxbet
The punters have begun to put bets down on the Mark Kavanagh-trained Whobegotyou, the beaten favourite from the 2009 Cox Plate. The Moonee Valley specialist is now at $16, in from $17 overnight.
Is a great chance to add into the exotics, but not sure if a win is possible after finishing a distant third to So You Think and Alcopop in the Yalumba.
Shoot Out – $12 Luxbet
In the past 12 hours sentimental favourite Shoot Out has drifted out from $11 to $12. Is a consistent Queensland galloper that many would love to see win after the tragic death of his regular rider Stathi Katsidis on Tuesday, but looks better for a Place bet.
Wall Street – $21 Luxbet
Classy Kiwi galloper Wall Street is a real unknown in the Cox Plate field. He has the form, the Group 1 wins in NZ and hasn’t been beaten by So You Think. But after an early rush of money, punters are starting to back off Wall Street uncertain if his from will continue in Australia and he has drifted out from $19 to $21.
Great roughie to put in the Cox Plate Trifecta.
