Royal Randwick will play host to a talent-rich nine race card for 2016 George Main Stakes Day this afternoon, highlighted by the Group 1 feature race contested over a mile.

It is a fine day in the greater Sydney metropolitan region today, however 7.4mm of rain throughout the last seven days has seen the Royal Randwick track rated a ‘Soft 5’ on 2016 George Main Stakes Day.

The George Main Stakes Day action will officially get underway with the running of the TAB Highway Handicap (1000m) at 12:15pm local time, and will conclude with the Sensis Dash (1200m) at 5:15pm.

The Group 2 The Shorts (1100m) and Group 3 Bill Ritchie Quality (1400m) officially complete the graded races on George Main Stakes Day this afternoon.
