3-year-old Zabeel filly Lights Of Heaven was the hot favourite to take the win, paying $2.00 at Luxbet.
At the start of the 1600m race Always Discreet moved up to take the lead as expected with Lights Of Heaven working into second.
The race order stayed pretty much the same until coming around the home turn and into the 200m, where Lights Of Heaven surged to move up on Always Discreet. At the line Lights Of Heaven managed to pull away and win by from a tough Always Discreet. Absolutely had a great run to take third place with Sean Baile Mor in fourth.
Peter Moody said that depending on how Lights Of Heaven pulls up after this race she could be aimed at the Australasian Oaks in Adelaide or the go towards the AJC Australian Oaks in Sydney. The Australasian Oaks could be the better option in the end according to Moody.
