Launceston Cup Day 2011 – Vamos Stakes Race Field & Betting Tips

Today the Tasmanian Turf Club is hosting a bumper race meet for Launceston Cup Day 2011, the line-up featuring three black-type races including the $100,000 Listed Eliza Park Vamos Stakes (1400m).

The 2011 Eliza Park Vamos Stakes is a weight-for-age showdown for fillies and mares, set to run as Launceston Race 8 at 5:05pm (AEDST) this afternoon.

Currently eight runners are engaged for the Vamos Stakes 2011 following the early scratching of #2 I’m A Hussy, #5 Mid Summer Music and #9 Cinnamon Sticks.

Raging favourite sitting odds-on at $1.70 in the Launceston Race 8 betting markets at Luxbet is #1 Lady Lynette.

The David and Scott Brunton-trained six-year-old is the deserved favourite after storming home to defeat I’m A Hussy by an easy one and a half lengths in the Listed Bo Mistress Trophy (1200m) last start on February 5.

Lady Lynette enjoyed Group race success in the Gr. 3 Tesio Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley during the spring and is also a Group 1 placegetter when second to Typhoon Tracy in the Myer Classic in October 2009.

The classiest runner in the Vamos Stakes today, Lady Lynette is a genuine racehorse and is always competitive so the Races.com.au team are sticking with the favourite here.

Launceston Race 8 Tips – 2011 Vamos Stakes Betting

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #1 Lady Lynette – Rated Special to Win – Bet now at Luxbet
  • Best Place Bets: #4 Winged Charm and #10 Tula

With the favourite at such short odds, we have selected our two other favourites in today’s field to finish off the winning Vamos Stakes Trifecta.

To run second behind Lady Lynette we like the $4.00 second elect in the Vamos betting markets at Luxbet, Winged Charm.

Michael Kent’s Cranbourne-based mare Wing Charm has the inside running today drawn on the rails, is coming off a second place finish over 1620m at Flemington and will put in a good run over her preferred distance here.

Adding some value to your Vamos Stakes bets is our third pick, Tula.

Luxbet are currently paying $15 for Tula to win, the Lago Delight four-year-old a winner at this track and distance last start on February 10 and drawn ideally.

The feature race at the meeting is the Group 3 Launceston Cup (2400m) running one event before the Vamos Stakes.
