The fifth race on the bumper Lightning Stakes Day card at Flemington tomorrow is the $200,000 Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) due to jump at 3:30pm (AEDST) and below the Races.com.au have published the exclusive 2011 CS Hayes Stakes Race and Betting Tips.
Flemington Race 5 is shaping up as a beauty as a quality field of 15 three-year-old colts and geldings are set to face off in the CS Hayes Stakes, many keen to secure the 2011 Australian Guineas ballot exemption up for grabs.Enjin Number Nine is the red hot favourite in the CS Hayes Stakes odds and betting at Luxbet, the up-and-coming Zenno Rob Roy gelding paying $3.50.
Drawn in barrier five and set to be ridden by Glen Boss, Enjin Number Nine has real claims and plenty of fans after scoring back-to-back wins this year.
Most recently they coasted to a 2 ½ length victory over Bullbars and Star Witness in the Listed Manfred Stakes (1300m) at Sandown on February 9.
We can’t take anything away from Enjin Number Nine’s win in the Manfred, it was outstanding, but we are leaning towards a better tried runner who is ready to return to form and have #1 Anacheeva rated special to win.
During the spring the Peter Moody-trained Anabaa colt Anacheeva claimed victory in both the Caulfield Guineas Prelude and then the Group 1 main event in fine style.
First-up this season Anacheeva ran seventh, beaten 2 ½ lengths, by Eclair Mystic in the Listed Zeditave Stakes (1200m).
We are certain Anacheeva will rise second-up here, benefiting from the run and the extra distance of the CS Hayes.
At $6.50 in the Luxbet CS Hayes Stakes markets we think Anacheeva is excellent value and punters that only look at finishing positions last start are missing out here.
Enjin Number Nine must be added in the Quinella.
For third behind these two runners we like $13 roughie Mr Chard.
Dean Lawson’s local Al Samer colt was seventh in the Manfred first-up but is dropping back in the weights from 59kg to 56.6kg, has drawn ideally in barrier two and is due to be ridden by Craig Williams.
Williams was aboard for their Manfred run and if the jockey is sticking with the mount then you know they fancy their chances.
Dusty Star is our other favourite for the exotics, the General Nediym gelding catching our attention and the eye of punters everywhere after their good upset victory over 1400m in the Group 3 D’Urban Stakes last weekend.
There’s lots of value in this year’s CS Hayes Stakes so check out the full betting odds and options open at Luxbet now and get in on the action!
