It’s a battle of the sexes in this weekend’s Randwick Guineas 2026 betting markets with the bookies and punters having a hard time separating the filly Sheza Alibi from Chris Waller‘s colt Autumn Boy in the $1 million event.

One of two elite level features on Sydney’s Royal Randwick card on Saturday, the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) field features nine top line three-year-olds chasing glory.
Won by plenty of star horses during their three-year-old seasons, the Randwick Guineas betting markets this year at Ladbrokes.com.au are narrowly led by the ultra-consistent Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained Saxon Warrior filly Sheza Alibi at $2.50.
Mosheen (2012) was the last Randwick Guineas winning filly but there’s plenty of money coming for Sheza Alibi to be the next this autumn.
Chasing her fourth win on the trot, she went out a back-to-back winner in the spring completing the Group 3 The Vanity – Group 2 Sandown Guineas double before kicking off her latest prep with another eye-catching victory.
Resuming at Caulfield on Blue Diamond Day, she made a mess of her rivals with an authoritative Group 2 Angus Armanasco win by over two lengths after weaving through the barest of margins before racing away.
That was her fifth win from eight starts and has set her up perfectly for her first trip to Sydney where she’ll reunite with her Sandown Guineas winning hoop, Luke Nolen, from gate four as a livewire chance to beat home the boys.
Autumn Boy donning the No. 1 saddlecloth lines-up as the key threat from gate three with the master, James McDonald, continuing associations.
Son of the race’s 2019 champion The Autumn Sun, Autumn Boy is already a proven Group 1 winning miler having claimed the Caulfield Guineas in Melbourne last time in.
Boasting a 50% winning strike rate from six starts he kicked off his autumn running third behind Ninja at Rosehill in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) having to do plenty of work to get around them after finding himself caught back from a bad gate.
The rise to 1600m second-up is sure to suit and a win wouldn’t surprise.
Michael Freedman‘s Hobartville winner Ninja ($6.50) also lines-up in the Randwick Guineas field now chasing the double last completed by Celestial Legend (2024).
The always honest son of Farnan is yet to run out of the money in his seven starts and has been good all summer and autumn long having earlier run second in the Gold Coast’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
He’s been up a while however and doesn’t map to get the same dream run as last time out so faces a few challenges if he’s to keep the wins coming.
Rounding out the hopes under $10 for the win is the Joseph Pride-trained Attica ($9) who presents as a second-up danger at a good price.
The nicely bred Lonhro colt is a Randwick specialist having won both his previous starts at the track.
He put two lengths on the next over the line in the Listed Dulcify at this track and trip in the spring before stepping up in distance to win the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes and add to his future value at stud.
First-up he lost few admirers resuming over 1400m in the Hobartville to finish fourth and he’s another well-suited to the extra 200m now having done his best work late last time out.
The 2026 Randwick Guineas is scheduled as Race 8 at 4:35pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s 10-race program.
