The weather in Sydney today is only partly cloudy and with little chance of the heavy rainfall that has plunged the state into wreckage the past week, there could potentially be an afternoon upgrade to the current Heavy (9) Rosehill track rating.

Rosehill racing gets underway at 12:20pm (AEDT) and the bumper ten-race card is set to continue through until 5:55pm (AEDT).

Punters are strapping in for a huge day of action and the first of the Group races sees the Golden Slipper-bound fillies face off in Race 2 at 11:55pm (AEDT) with the running of the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes (1200m).

Eleven of the original acceptors remain in the mix after the scratching of #1 Queen Of The Ball (5) and #3 Moko (7) and favourite to best handle the testing conditions is She’s Extreme out wide.

Next-up it is the boys’ turn in the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) at 1:30pm (AEDT) #7 Cool Amigo (9), #8 Nolan (12), #10 Standing Order (10), #11 Brosnan (5) and #13 Custodian (11) have all come out and the untapped Hawkes Racing-trained Magic is the one to beat.

An important Group 1 Doncaster Mile lead-up follows with Race 4 at 2:05pm – the Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) – where only seven remain after the withdrawal of #4 Atishu (7) and it is Ellsberg at an odds-on quote in the markets at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Race 5 has the second-tier sprinters facing off in the Group 3 Maurice McCarten Stakes (1100m) where #1 Gem Song (10), #7 The Face (6) and #8 Glistening (2) are the scratchings.

A quality three-years-old event is slated for Race 6 at 3:20pm (AEDT) and the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) has six coming out: #3 Silent Impact (9), #4 Cape Breton (8), #6 Gracilistyla (6), #7 Son Of Sangio (10), #8 Hinged (2), #10 Espiona (11), and #13 Cap Estel (13).

In the updated 2022 Phar Lap Stakes betting markets, Chris Waller’s Light Fingers winner Fangirl is into odds-on territory to beat the boys and return to winning form third-up.

A class line-up of potential Sydney Cup-bound staying types run in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes (2000m), a race worth $350,000, at 4:00pm (AEDT) and #6 Torrens (10), #7 Toomuchtobear (7) and #8 Alakahan (2) are the scratchings.

The meeting’s marquee race is set to run as Rosehill Race 8 at 4:40pm (AEDT) with the fillies and mares running in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m).

The 2022 Coolmore Classic field has four scratchings: #5 Shout The Bar (15), #10 Le Lude (14), #13 Kiku (11) and #16 Fangirl (5) and clear favourite is Waller’s lightly-raced filly Espiona.

See below for the full Rosehill scratchings and Coolmore Classic Day 2022 jump times before heading online to Ladbrokes.com.au for the weekend’s top markets.
