Miss Imagica a late entry for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas

The Michael Nolan-trained three-year-old filly Miss Imagica is a late entry for the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas to be run at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Race Day on Saturday January 15.

Nolan had originally nominated Miss Imagica for the $200,000 Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap over 1300m, but is now considering the 2011 Magic Millions Guineas over 1400m after two of the main contenders, Toorak Toff and Squamosa, dropped out of the nominations.

“We originally just nominated for the fillies and mares race for that date then we saw that the two main chances in Toorak Toff and Squamosa were out (of the Guineas),” Nolan said.

“So we thought we would throw a late nomination in and just see what happens. With those two horses out it has opened the field up a bit.”

While Miss Imagica has won four of her ten career starts, three of those wins have been on the Toowoomba cushion track. Nolan will now wait until acceptance time to decide which race to run the filly in.

Nolan also has another late nomination for the Magic Millions Guineas in Miss Imagica’s stablemate Ghostnthedarkness.
