Latest 2010 Kingston Town Classic Odds

The 2010 Kingston Town Classic is set to take place at Ascot Racecourse tomorrow as the third and final Group 1 race of the Perth Summer Racing Carnival and below the Races.com.au team have a look at the latest odds for the feature showdown and see where the punters’ money is at.

The final field for the $500,000 Group 2 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) is down to 13 runners after Admiring became the third horse scratched from the race this afternoon.

With Admiring, Lune Yat Forever and Almohad out, the odds on the remaining hopefuls have been affected.

Playing God continues to lead the Kingston Town Classic markets, the WA Guineas winner firming right into $3.90 at Luxbet.

The Blackfriars three-year-old may be stepping up in grade today, but with an ideal draw, light weight and back-to-back stakes wins behind them, Playing God is a very genuine chance to become the 2010 Kingston Town Classic winner.

However, favourites don’t have the most impressive recent record in the Kingston Town Classic results over the past decade and neither do three-year-olds.

So, it is understandable that a number of other runners in tomorrow’s field have met with plenty of support from the punters in the past 24 hours.

The biggest market firmer has been #7 Colour Correct, the six-year-old gelding shortening right in from $17 to $9 since the latest markets opened at Luxbet.

An unlucky run in the Railway Stakes saw Colour Correct finish a well-beaten 11th after starting as the $4 favourite, however prior to that they were in career best form and if you can forgive them for their last start the step up to 1800m and good draw tomorrow bring Colour Correct right into contention.
