The money is coming thick and fast for the conservatively priced Autumn Glow to retain her undefeated status when the ace Chris Waller-trained mare starts odds-on favourite in 2026 George Ryder Stakes betting in Sydney this weekend.

Golden Slipper Day sees the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival action hit fever pitch on Saturday with five elite levels littering the program including the Group 1 $1 million George Ryder Stakes (1500m).
A middle-distance feature won by a host of turf greats over the years including most famously the might Winx four times on the trot, this year’s George Ryder field features a typically elite line-up of 12 hopefuls with markets at Ladbrokes.com.au firmly led by four-year-old The Autumn Sun mare Autumn Glow ($1.30).
Winner of the Epsom Handicap / Golden Eagle double over the spring, she’s two-from-two this prep having taken her flawless record up to 10 on the trot last time out with a narrow victory at a similarly short starting price in the Group 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes (1600m).
A genuine Rosehill specialist having won all four starts at the track ahead of Saturday’s assignment, Autumn Glow oozes class and is fast working her way into the Australian racing history books.
She’ll be ridden by James McDonald, who sits just one outside the G.O.A.T. Damien Oliver’s all-time Group 1 record ahead of Slipper Day, from barrier seven and will take the power of beating.
The most likely to end the Autumn Glow winning streak sitting on the second line of George Ryder Stakes betting at $9.50 and currently the only other single figure fancy is her also impressive stablemate Lady Shenandoah.
As a filly Waller’s now four-year-old daughter of Snitzel made a huge impact winning the Flight Stakes and Surround Stakes before beating home her older rivals in last year’s Coolmore Classic at this track and trip.
She’s had two lead-up runs this time in for back-to-back thirds behind the also Waller-trained Joliestar, most recently at Randwick on March 7 in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m).
Tommy Berry comes aboard for the weekend with Lady Shenandoah chasing her third win from as many starts at the Rosehill circuit with the rails draw.
Completing the Waller contingent in the George Ryder drawn the opposite end of the field out in gate 12 is Beiwacht ($19).
The Bivouac colt is out to join Veight (2024) as the latest three-year-old George Ryder Stakes winners and is another out of the Canterbury with the reigning Golden Rose champ having run a half-length second.
Coming in confident off a lead-up win fresh in the Melbourne’s Group 1 Futurity Stakes is the Bjorn Baker-trained Pericles ($15).
Craig Williams sticks aboard the six-year-old son of Street Boss who now heads up to Sydney looking to add to his solid second-up record (7:3-2-1).
Third to Autumn Glow in last year’s Epsom Handicap in his last run outside of Melbourne, Pericles has plenty of good runs at Rosehill on his CV and presents as a value inclusion for exotics.
The 2026 George Ryder Stakes is set to run as Rosehill Race 7 at 3:50pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s bumper 10-race card.
