It is a fine day for the latest instalment of the Melbourne Festival of Racing and with sunny skies and zero chance of rain the current Good (4) Flemington track rating is set to remain.

Melbourne Saturday racing kicks off this afternoon at 12:30pm (AEDT) and continues through until Race 9 at 5:25pm (AEDT).

Three Group status races headline the Flemington racing action including the day’s namesake race, the 2018 Black Caviar Lightning feature the return of Redzel at 4:45pm (AEDT).

The original 10-horse Black Caviar Lightning Stakes field remains and there are also no scratchings, aside from emergencies, in either the 2018 CS Hayes Stakes (Race 7) for Australian Guineas-bound colts and geldings or the 2018 The Vanity (Race 6) for the returning three-year-old fillies.
