Queensland Oaks Day scratchings and track condition

The Group 1 $500,000 Treasury Brisbane Queensland Oaks (2200m) will have a capacity field of sixteen runners on a Good 4 rated track at Doomben today.

Racing Queensland ordered the transfer of Saturday’s Queensland Oaks meeting and next week’s Stradbroke Handicap meeting to Doomben after the Eagle Farm track came in for some heavy criticism because of a below par racing surface on Kingsford-Smith Cup Race Day last Saturday.

The distance for the Queensland Oaks had to be reduced from 2400m to 2200m because of the different configuration of the Doomben track with the rail out 5m for the entire course.

Because of no withdrawals in the top sixteen runners in the Queensland Oaks, the three emergencies, No. 17 Lipstick Lover, No. 18 Namib and No. 19 Miabla were not required and are three of the eighteen scratchings for the Queensland Oaks eight event Race Day.

Race 1 – No. 3 Pure Luck.

Race 2 – No. 3 Cabin Fever, No. 14 Danzon.

Race 3 – No. 5 Handfast, No 6 Trubia.

Race 4 – No. 6 Garbhan.

Race 5 – No. 1 Felines, No. 10 Painte.

Race 6 – No. 13 Elegant Composure, No. 14 Bonny O’Reilly.

Race 7 – No. 17 Lipstick Lover, No. 18 Namib, No. 19 Miabla.

Race 8 – No. 1 Danish Twist, No. 2 Nancy, No. 17 All Over Bosanova, No. 20 Prontezza, No. 21 Megapushpa.
