Saturday Race Tips – 2011 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes Betting & Odds

Tomorrow Flemington Racecourse will host a bumper nine-race programme for the 2011 Super Saturday of Racing and the Group racing action will kick off right away with Race 1 – the $150,000 Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m).

The Races.com.au team have analysed the form for the 2011 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes field, assessing the chances of all 13 two-year-old fillies set to face off at 11:30am (AEDST) tomorrow.

In a fairly open market, Holdontoyahorses is the narrow favourite to win the opening Super Saturday race tomorrow sitting at the top of the Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes odds paying $4.60 through Luxbet.

Most recently Mick Price’s Dane Shadow filly ran an eye-catching fifth to the talented Sepoy in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 26.

Despite drawing wide in barrier 10 for Saturday, Holdontoyahorses looks to have the class to outrun her rivals and score her third career win from five starts and we are sticking with the favourite.

Flemington Race 1 Betting – 2011 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes Tips

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #5 Holdontoyahorses – Rated Special to win so bet now at Luxbet

Paying $4.60 at Luxbet, a very backable price that is sure to firm. Hit the line well in the Blue Diamond, which has served as a good guide for this race in past years so look at that for form.

  • To Finish Second: #10 And Rock – Paying $15 to Win and $4.25 to Place at Luxbet

John McArdle’s Fastnet Rock filly has come up trumps with barrier one. Having just her second career start after running sixth, beaten 2 ½ lengths, by Atomic in the Listed Chairman’s Stakes on debut on February 9. Will have improved from the run.

  • Third Place Goes To: #4 Triple Asset – Lock in Trifecta at Luxbet now

In-form Nadeem filly coming off a good 3 ½ length win in the Tasmanian Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) on February 23. Drawn in barrier six with Michael Rodd in the mount, drops back 1kg in the weights and has strong claims yet to finish outside of the money in her five career starts.

  • Add into Exotics / First Four Bets: #6 Flor Do Mar – Back at Luxbet

Good value as a double-figure outsider in the odds, improving runner from the David Hayes’ stable having their first look at the Flemington track. Ran second to Golden Archer in December and most recently put in a good effort to come in second behind Holdontoyahorses over 1100m at Caulfield on January 8, has been freshened up since which is an advantage.
