Today racing fans around Australia are in for a midweek treat with five TAB meetings set to run including the bumper Mornington Cup Day programme in Victoria.

The Melbourne Racing Club will host a massive 10-race meeting at their Mornington track this Wednesday February 16 headlined by three features.

Firstly Race 6 – the $250,000 2YO Inglis Premier (1200m) will take place at 2:25pm (AEDST) – where a field of top two-year-olds will take to the track.

Many runners in the 2011 Inglis Premier are vying for a spot in the $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes field Saturday week at Caulfield, including the two Inglis Premier favourites Masthead and Delago’s Lad.

Currently the Lee Freedman-trained Masthead, 28^th on the Blue Diamond Stakes order of entry, is the $4 favourite at Luxbet to win Mornington Race 6 this afternoon while Delago’s Lad is at $4.20.

The other highlight events in Victoria today are Mornington Race 7 – $100,000 Listed Mornington Stakes (1200m) and Race 8 the $300,000 Listed Mornington Cup (2400m).
