2010 A.J. Scahill Stakes Odds & Betting

The betting markets for this Saturday’s $125,000 Group 3 A.J. Scahill Stakes (1400m) at Ascot Racecourse have opened with Waratah’s Secret installed as the raging favourite in the latest Perth Summer Racing Carnival event.

The 2010 A.J. Scahill Stakes final field features 10 horses, with David Harrison’s Oratorio gelding Waratah’s Secret sitting at the top of the betting markets currently paying $2.80 to win on Saturday through Luxbet.

Having won the Group 3 Prince of Wales Stakes (1200m) back in October, four-year-old Waratah’s Secret has been consistently good this season placing second in the Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes (1100m) before running a solid fourth in the Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot on November 27.

Despite a wide barrier nine draw Waratah’s Secret is attracting plenty of big money bets, so if you fancy backing the favourite now is the time to do so at Luxbet before the odds shorten!

In a very open betting market there are four other runners at single figure odds to win this year’s A.J. Scahill Stakes with King Kool Kat the next shortest-priced entry paying $5.50 at Luxbet.

The in-form seven-year-old trained by Ian Glading is coming off two eye-catching runs this preparation finishing third in the Colonel Reeves first up before running a gallant second to upset winner Hadabeclorka in the Winterbottom last start.

King Kool Kat has drawn on the rails in barrier one for Saturday and will have Jason Whiting aboard, their third jockey in as many starts after being ridden by Melbourne Cup winning mount Gerald Mosse in the Winterbottom.

Third placegetter in the Group 1 Railway Stakes Megatic ($6), the Fred Kersley-trained Marasco ($7) and Hadabeclorka ($8) then follow in the A.J. Scahill Stakes odds at Luxbet.

For more value, and roughies can and do win at Ascot as seen with Hadabeclorka winning the Winterbottom as a $41 chance, punters may fancy the likes of Proart ($12) resuming after a lengthy spell or Choisir gelding Kasabian ($18) for an upset in the A.J. Scahill Stakes result on Saturday.

Due to jump as Race 6 at 7:20pm (AEDST) at Ascot on Saturday, the 2010 A.J. Scahill Stakes is one of the premier end-of-year betting opportunities so don’t miss out!
