Colonel Reeves Stakes 2010 Tips & Betting – Ascot Race 7

As part of the great action of the Perth Summer Racing Carnival, Ascot Racecourse is hosting the WA Guineas Day today featuring a range of excellent features including Race 7 – the $125,000 Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes (1100m) set to jump at 7:20pm (AEDST).

The 2010 Colonel Reeves Stakes final field features 11 seasoned gallopers with Waratah’s Secret the red hot favourite to win at the short quote of $1.85 through Luxbet.

The David Harrison-trained four-year-old Waratah’s Secret has won all three of their race starts this season including their comprehensive victory in the Group 3 Prince Of Wales Stakes (1200m) at Ascot last start.

Despite their dominance in the Colonel Reeves Stakes odds, we are tipping an upset over Waratah’s Secret and rate Marasco as the best valued runner to win Race 7 at Ascot today.

Ascot – Race 7 – Seacorp Colonel Reeves Stakes Tips

  • Favourite: #1 Marasco – Rated Special to Win at $8 Luxbet
  • Best Place Picks: #4 Waratah’s Secret and #3 Ma Ma Machine

Drawn in barrier eight, the Fred Kersley-trained Marasco is an eight-year-old Scenic gelding coming off back-to-back stakes wins in the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes (1400m) and the Group 3 Strickland Stakes (1800m) at Ascot and this imposing record along with their experience at the track makes them excellent value in the market today.

Aside from the punters’ favourite Waratah’s Secret, the other runner we tip to add into the multiples on the Colonel Reeves Stakes is Ma Ma Machine.

Adam Durrant’s six-year-old has show promise this season with a second in the Beaufine Stakes at Belmont before running third to Werd in The Cannonball last start.

For the full Colonel Reeves odds and betting options, head to Luxbet now and while you’re there check out the action happening at Sandown Classic Day today as well!
