2010 Sandown Classic Day

After the final Melbourne Cup Carnival Day took place last weekend, this Saturday November 13 will see the last Spring Carnival race meeting in Melbourne take place at Betfair Park Sandown Hillside with 2010 Sandown Classic Day.

Nine quality races will light up the Sandown track, with the feature event at the meeting being the $350,000 Group 2 Sandown Classic (2400m) where staying stars including Faint Perfume, Ginga Dude, Manighar and Zipping – vying for his fourth straight Sandown Classic victory – have been nominated.

The other highlight race on the card is the $350,000 Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) where Chris Waller’s Pressday is the top-rated entry.

As well as the two Group 2 features, punters can also enjoy the action of the Group 3 Race-Tech Sandown Stakes (1500m) and the Group 3 Betfair Eclipse Stakes (1800m).

Nominations for all the Sandown races scheduled for this Saturday are already out, while detailed race previews, field and form guides will be published here at Races.com.au following the release of the final acceptances on Thursday.

The Sandown Classic Day is the final Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival meeting for the season before the action moves to Western Australia for the Summer Festival of Racing.
