2010 Spring Champion Stakes Final Field & Preview – Snowden Stablemates Top Picks

A cracker day of racing for punters will take place at Randwick this Saturday featuring an elite line-up of Group status races including the $400,000 Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m).

A final field of 12 boom three-year-olds have been accepted for the 2010 Spring Champion Stakes with one of the early favourites being the Peter Snowden-trained Retrieve.

Consistent Rahy colt Retrieve is seeking their third win on the trot following their impressive victory in the Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill last start and has drawn barrier five for Saturday.

Fellow Snowden-trained three-year-old and Gloaming Stakes runner-up Erewhon is also backing up in the Spring Champion Stakes, the Commands gelding due to jump from barrier two as Snowden seeks successive Group race quinellas.

The other Spring Champion runner that has drawn ideally is Praecido with the coveted gate one.

The David Payne-trained One Cool Cat colt finished third in the Gloaming Stakes and their consistent recent form and advantageous barrier position make them a real contender.

Other top picks in the Spring Champion Stakes field are Dulcify Quality runner-up Howdiddydoit (barrier 12), Paul Murray’s Alma’s Fury (barrier eight), and another from the Snowden stables, Spring Stakes runner-up Giresun.

Odds for the 2010 Spring Champion Stakes and the other feature Randwick races on Saturday including the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) and Group 1 The Metropolitan (2400m) will open at Sportsbet shortly.

Ladbrokes.com.au guarantee punters the best price on the horse races every day, so make sure you sign up with them today to win big this weekend or check our partner site for free  horse racing tips.
