Yosei & Ringa Ringa Rosie Top Picks in 2010 Thousand Guineas Prelude Field

On Saturday at Caulfield’s Underwood Stakes Day, a sensational line up of races will take place as part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival including the $1750,000 Group 3 Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m).

A final field of 16 three-year-old fillies have been accepted for the 2010 Thousand Guineas Prelude, with our two top picks at Races.com.au being Yosei and Ringa Ringa Rosie.

AJC Sires Produce Stakes winner Yosei has drawn wide with barrier 15, but the Stuart Webb-trained Invincible Spirit filly has the ability to overcome the unfavourable draw.

Yosei resumed racing in the McNeil Stakes last month running a gallant fourth to Sistine Angel and should improve second-up on Saturday.

Meanwhile Ringa Ringa Rosie has continued to improve over her eight race career winning at Doomben last start and is also starting out wide from barrier 13 with regular rider Chris Munce aboard.

Other top chances that have drawn better in the Thousand Guineas Prelude include McNeil Stakes winner Sistine Angel (barrier three) sure to start as one of the top fancies, the Peter Moody-trained Willow Creek (barrier five) and the improving Shamrocker (barrier two).
