2010 Group 1 C F Orr Stakes Final Field & Preview

Preparations are in progress at Caulfield Racecourse for this Saturday, when the esteemed racing venue is set to host their first of three race days making up the Caulfield Festival of Racing. The C F Orr Stakes Day is a sensational nine-race meeting headlined by Australia?s next Group 1 feature, the $400 000 Sportingbet Orr Stakes (1400m).

10 turf champions have secured a start in the C F Orr Stakes including one mare, the brilliant Typhoon Tracy.

Trained by Peter Moody, Typhoon Tracy has drawn ideally with barrier one and is aiming at becoming just the third female runner in history to win the C F Orr Stakes.

She will face some tough competition however, as the star studded field of male rivals is saturated with previous Group 1 winners including last year?s Melbourne Cup victor, the Mark Kavanagh-trained Shocking.

Shocking, however, has drawn wide with barrier nine as have many of the other highly rated greats such as the Bart Cummings-trained 2009 Caulfield Cup winner Viewed and last-start Sandown Classic champion Zipping, set to jump from gate eight.

Others to keep an eye on in the C F Orr Stakes include Tracey Bartley?s Sniper?s Bullet drawn well in four and Heart Of Dreams in barrier six.

The other feature races of the day are the $125 000 Group 3 Arrowfield Stud Blue Diamond Preludes (1100m), one for colts & geldings and the other for fillies, and the $125 000 Group 3 Rubiton Stakes (1100m).
