The highest number of Melbourne Cup second acceptors since 2010, there are a dozen internationals still in the mix including the all-in favourite Tiger Moth for Ireland’s Aidan O’Brien.

The Melbourne Cup 2020 field is beginning to take shape following the 174 nominations taken on Tuesday August 27, 2020.
Last year’s winning trainer Danny O’Brien has seven Melbourne Cup nominations in 2020 including the reigning champion Vow And Declare.
The 2020 Melbourne Cup nominations also feature 30 overseas-trained raiders that could make their way down under for the ‘race that stops a nation’ on Tuesday November 3, 2020.

The 2020 Melbourne Cup Weights were subsequently announced on Tuesday September 8 and led by Irish raider Anthony Van Dyck (58.5kg), while last year’s champion Vow And Declare goes up to 57kg.
