The punters are rallying hard and fast for Bjorn Baker‘s undefeated colt Warwoven who chases a hat-trick as the odds-on favourite in 2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic betting on the Gold Coast this weekend.

Saturday sees the Gold Coast’s marquee race meeting take centre stage at Aquis Park with close to $13 million on offer across the card which is headlined by the juveniles doing battle in the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m).

Sitting top of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic markets at $1.90 through Ladbrokes.com.au, Baker’s son of Sword Of State comes in unbeaten having gone back-to-back with a successful debut at Randwick on December 20 followed by his three-length romp home under 59kg in a QTIS 2YO Handicap over 1200m at Eagle Farm on January 3.

That was the ideal lead-up into this tougher assignment where he should relish coming back to 57kg at set weights from the perfect gate six draw for regular rider Rachel King.

He’s got all the upside and it’s not hard to see why he’s so dominant in betting.

The danger following Warwoven at Magic Millions 2YO Classic odds of $7 is the also unbeaten Zip Lock for Chris & Corey Munce.

Zip Lock is out to complete the BJ McLachlan Stakes - Magic Millions 2YO Classic double for the first time since Storm Boy (2023-24)!

Two from two leading into the $3 million feature, this progressive Hellbent colt was last seen claiming the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes defeating Tornado Valley by 1.5 lengths on Soft going.

Coolangatta (2021 – 2022) and Storm Boy (2023 – 2024) are the latest two-year-olds to complete the BJ McLachlan Stakes – Magic Millions 2YO Classic double and there’s money coming for Zip Lock to be the next with Martin Harley to do the steering from a good gate three draw.

The last of the single-figure fancies at $9 is Ciaron Maher‘s McLachlan Stakes runner up Tornado Valley out to go one better from barrier five with Ethan Brown sticking in the saddle of the promising Too Darn Hot colt.

Well-tried having his fourth career run on the weekend, he looks well placed again to potentially return to winning form having taken out the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Gai Waterhouse celebrated her fifth Magic Millions 2YO Classic win on the Gold Coast in 2024 with Storm Boy and she and co-trainer Adrian Bott are in with a strong four-pronged assault on the field this year.

The fillies have won 11 of the past 16 editions of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic making Shiki a definite danger this weekend!

The best of the Waterhouse/Bott runners in the markets at $12 and the standout filly in the mix taking on the boys is Shiki who is a daughter of boom sire Too Darn Hot.

The fillies have enjoyed a dominant recent record in the Magic Millions Classic results with seven wins from 2017 – 2025 – and 11 of the past 16 as of 2025.

Shiki narrowly won Randwick’s Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes on debut back in October and boasts form around Warwoven having finished fourth to him fresh last month in Sydney.

She bounced back to the winner’s stall here at the Gold Coast last weekend claiming victory in the Aquis Gold Pearl QTIS Fillies race and now steps up to the six furlongs for the first time on the quick back-up.

Other potential value runners in the mix include Maher’s Supido colt Unit Five ($13) who claimed the Magic Millions Victorian 2YO Classic by 2.5 lengths on debut and the Tony Gollan trained Itchintogo ($15) who has won two of his three assignments so far including the Listed Phelan Ready.

Itchintogo is also on the short turnaround after destroying an easier field of rivals here last weekend to take out the Aquis Gold Nugget by nearly five lengths.

The 2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic is set to run as the Gold Coast Race 7 at 4:05pm (AEST) on Saturday’s 10-race card.
