Persan is second-up and presents well for the Adelaide Cup, but will need to be good with the weights with Gallic (58kg in 2007) the only horse to carry more than 57.5kg in the race for over 20 years.
Maher & Eustace chase their first Adelaide Cup victory and also saddle-up the $4.80 second favourite and 58.5kg second highest-weighted galloper in Grand Promenade.

The Robert Hickmott-trained son of Jakkalberry was strong with 56kg that run and will be flying back to 53kg in the Group 2 with Teo Nugent continuing associations from a good gate two draw.
Highland Jakk pays current Adelaide Cup odds of $7 and is the only other runner outside the Maher/Eustace duo at single-figures.
