Trainer Tony McEvoy’s stable star Hey Doc is set to keep his Moonee Valley winning record intact when he steps out in the Listed $120,000 SAJ Fruit Supply Carlyon Stakes (1000m) at The Valley on Saturday.

Hey Doc is the winner of all his three appearances at The Valley and will get every chance to claim another victory there after drawing barrier four in the final thirteen horse field.

Regular ride Luke Currie will continue his association with Hey Doc after the pair have combined for two Group 1 wins in the $750,000 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington during the 2017 Melbourne Autumn Carnival and in the $1m Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200m) at The Valley during the 2017 Spring Carnival.

“It’s nice to have him back, he’s probably my pin-up horse for the stable having won two Group 1s for us,”  McEvoy told racing.com.

The speedy Super Too is also a winner at The Valley and should have no trouble crossing the field from the outside barrier to take up his usual position at the head of the pack with Damien Oliver in the saddle.

The James Cummings trainer Bandipur has also drawn out wide at gate twelve and jockey Dwayne Dunn will have to be at his best if the Commands four year old is to record a hat trick of wins after victories at Randwick and Flemington in restricted class.

Victoria’s leading trainer Darren Weir will saddle up the consistent Quilista who will jump from barrier three with Damian Lane on top while Team Snowden will saddle up eight year old Dothraki from barrier ten for Mark Zahra.
