The Stratum filly is one of 10 final acceptors for the $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes (1200m) running at Wyong Racecourse this Thursday as Race 4 at 3:23pm (AEDT).
Drawn in barrier three with Tommy Berry to ride, she’s heading towards a run in the 2015 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in Queensland on January 10.
In the futures Gold Coat Magic Millions 3YO Guineas odds at Ladbrokes.com.au Echo Gal occupies the second line of betting at $7 behind Tony Gollan’s Melbourne Cup Day winner Hijack Hussy.
She’s out to confirm her Gold Coast bid on Thursday then with a first-up run at Wyong.
Echo Gal hasn’t raced since October 4 when at Randwick she crossed fifth behind First Seal in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m).
Boasting a good first-up record of two wins from three starts, she comes into Thursday’s race on the back of a winning Randwick trail over 1050m.
The next best Wyong Magic Millions Stakes hopes in the markets for the Gold Coast’s million dollar edition in a few weeks’ time are then Cyclone ($13) and Tetsuko ($13).
Drawn in barrier four for this week with Blake Shinn in the saddle, the Bjorn Baker-trained Sebring gelding Cyclone is looking to improve on a second last when eighth at Kensington on November 22 over 1400m behind Eisenhower.
Tetsuko is drawn two on his inside with barrier two for Kerrin McEvoy, the Gerald Ryan-trained I Am Invincible filly coming off a first-up fourth at Canterbury.
She’s twice Group 2 performed however in Sydney from the autumn including her third to Believe Yourself in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) in mid-March.
There are then three last start winners in the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes field for Thursday including the undefeated Brendan McCarthy-trained Murt The Flirt.
A $15 chance for the big one on the Gold Coast, the Murtajill gelding debuted at Ballarat on November 22 over 1100m and won by a length in an effort he’ll be out to emulate here.
The others after back-to-back wins are then the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Choice We Had with the rails run from barrier one and Paul Perry’s Choisir filly Kokomo coming off a Newcastle win over 900m from last month.
