Cox Plate Day 2025 is held on Saturday Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Moonee Valley Racecourse.

The meeting’s feature race – the $6 million Group 1 Ladbrokes Cox Plate (2040m) is scheduled to run as Race 10 at 5:40pm (AEDT) on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Along with the Ladbrokes Cox Plate there plenty of other Group races across the Cox Plate Day card that features a bumper line-up of 10 events to enjoy a punt on at an online bookmaker such as the race sponsor Ladbrokes.com.au.

The Ladbrokes Cox Plate has traditionally been the meeting’s only elite level race. In 2023 the Group 1 $2 million Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200m) was added to the Cox Plate Day card.

Cox Plate Day 2025 however will not feature the Manikato with the sprint forming part of its own feature night racing meeting at the same track earlier in the spring on Friday, September 26th, 2025.

• Group 3 Red Anchor Stakes (1200m).

Chris Waller’s champion mare Via Sistina ($2.25F) etched her name in racing history, winning the 2025 Ladbrokes Cox Plate in a thrilling photo finish over stablemate Buckaroo to become the first horse since Winx to claim back-to-back victories in the race. Tresurethe Moment ran third for trainer Matt Laurie with Attrition fourth. Waller is now a six-time Cox Plate winning trainer while jockey James McDonald equalled Hugh Bowman’s record of four wins.
