The 2011 Caulfield Cup Results saw visiting Adelaide-trained mare Southern Speed salute as a $10 shot in betting with Craig Williams in the saddle of the last start Turnbull Stakes fourth placegetter. The first Caulfield Cup winning mare since Ethereal (2001), Southern Speed handed Williams his maiden success in the mile and a half classic but the hoop would go on to secure back-to-back Caulfield Cup victories with his 2012 success on French raider Dunaden.

The Caulfield Cup winner for 2011, Southern Speed had one and a half-lengths to spare over the runner-up Green Moon with the trifecta rounded out by Tullamore .
