The 2012 Caulfield Cup Results saw Michael Delzangles-trained French raider Dunaden defeat the locals at odds of $13. Dunaden saluted first-up down under on the back of a Hong Kong Vase victory at Sha Tin and gave jockey Craig Williams back-to-back Caulfield Cup wins after his 2011 win on Southern Speed. It was an historic Caulfield Cup result as Dunaden, the reigning Melbourne Cup champion, became the first ever original Caulfield Cup top weight to salute carrying 58.5kg.
The Caulfield Cup 2012 winner beat home lightweight Alcopop by a half-length, while Peter Moody’s mare Lights Of Heaven crossed in a brave third ahead of fellow French visitor Americain (4th) who took out the 2010 Melbourne Cup.
