He’s Our Rokkii Requires Luck from Wide WA Guineas Barrier
Three-year-old He’s Our Rokkii was scratched from last weekend’s Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) with a view towards Saturday’s 2015 WA Guineas (1600m) at Ascot Racecourse, but will need plenty of luck in transit for success after drawing the reasonably awkward barrier 12.

Beginning his racing career in his native New Zealand under the guidance of Mark Forbes, He’s Our Rokkii has posted a number of credible results through four starts for David Hayes and Tom Dabernig and was last seen at the races running on for a credible fourth in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) on October 31st.
Racing Manager for Hayes and Dabernig, Ryan Moore told The West Australian the team is thrilled with the condition of the Roc De Cambes colt and are confident he is more than capable of overcoming his wide draw for the 2015 WA Guineas.
“He’s Our Rokkii has his gallop at home on Saturday so he does not need to go to the Breakfast with the stars,” Moore said.
“The barrier is not too bad.”
Trained out of Lindsay Park’s Flemington stables, the team has absolutely no doubt He’s Our Rokkii will take no effect whatsoever from the long-haul flight to Perth.
“He flew from New Zealand to Melbourne earlier this year and has arrived most relaxed,” Moore added.
Trialling well in the lead-up to his racing debut, He’s Our Rokkii ran a credible third in the Supporters Maiden (1100m) at New Plymouth on January 30th; making a competitive transition to black type racing when second in the Group 3 Phoenix 2.y.o Classic (1200m) a fortnight later before ending his New Zealand tenure fourth in the Group 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on March 28th.
Debuting in Australia for a maiden race win in the Westcourt Insurance Maiden (1206m) on September 15th, He’s Our Rokkii ran sixth in the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m) and second in the Movenpick Raceday BM78 (1600m) in his only other start prior to the Carbine Club Stakes.
