With overnight rain the Randwick race meeting for today, Saturday November 6th 2010, has been downgraded to a Heavy 8. Showers are looming over the racecourse so it can only get worse.

Like all tracks rated heavy only bet on horses that can handle a wet track, a horse that has not handled it before will not usually all of a sudden magically handle it so be careful. No matter how good odds you think your horse is, don’t be suckered into a bet if your horse doesn’t handle the wet.

After the first race in Randwick the winner Mazzini came right down the outside, all horses were staying off the rail and the first 3 place getters all came down the out side. Inside barrier draws are likely to be a disadvantage as are backing horses that normally race up on the lead.
