The 2017 Caulfield Cup Results saw a shock Caulfield Cup winner emerge with Boom Time saluting at odds of 50/1. Co-trainer David Hayes from the Caulfield Cup winning stable Lindsay Park enjoyed his third success in the mile and a half classic, and is also the sole owner of Boom Time. The horse was ridden to victory by first-time Caulfield Cup jockey Cory Parish and was the longest-priced Caulfield Cup winner since Taufans’ Melody (66/1 in 1998).

Caulfield Cup 2017 winner Boom Time switched back to the inside late and charged home to defeat the brave Nick Olive-trained mare Single Gaze ($31), while the Aidan O’Brien-trained favourite Johannes Vermeer  ($5) rounded out the trifecta in third.
