The opening Group 1 race of the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival will be run and won at Morphettville on Saturday with a capacity field of fillies set to line-up in the Australasian Oaks 2026 where Getta Good Feeling is the firm favourite to extend her winning streak.

The key support act on Robert Sangster Stakes Day, this year’s Group 1 $1 million Australasian Oaks (2000m) field with feature the full 16 starters.
Heading the markets at $2.80 through Ladbrokes.com.au is outright favourite Getta Good Feeling for trainer Danny O’Brien.
The flying daughter of So You Think chases a hat-trick coming off back-to-back wins in Melbourne this prep.
Fresh, the spring’s Group 2 Wakeful Stakes winner took out the lucrative $1 million Inglis Sprint at a big price before her last start victory as the odds-on favourite in the Group 3 Alexandra Stakes (1600m) on March 21.
She carted a hefty 59kg to a nearly one-length win over the mile last time out, has been kept fit with a subsequent winning Geelong jump out and is proven over the 2000m in another big tick.
Billy Egan sticks with in South Australia and Getta Good Feeling is drawn to get a dream run from gate five well suited to the drop back in weights to 56kg making her a huge chance to salute for the punters.
Eight Australasian Oaks favourites have won since 2006 giving the punters’ picks an excellent strike-rate including Benagil ($3.10 in 2025) last year.
Out to stop the punters from collecting on the second line of Australasian Oaks betting at $4.40 and also drawn ideally in gate three is the Ciaron Maher-trained Salty Pearl.
Maher chases his second win in the event but his first as a solo trainer following his 2023 victory with Affaire A Suivre in partnership with David Eustace.
He saddles-up a genuine threat to the favourite with his striking grey Tagaloa filly Salty Pearl hardly ever running a bad race.
She comes in off an impressive string of top three runs this prep including a huge 2.75 length romp home in the VOBIS Guineas over the Caulfield mile.
Salty Pearl then went to Sydney and was eye-catching running under a half-length third to Belle Cheval in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) on March 28.
Her subsequent Cranbourne trial was hampered by a Heavy track, but she’s fit and flying, will see out the trip without a worry and has Ben Allen continuing associations.
A further two potential SA Derby-bound fillies are under $10 for the Oaks win with Mating Call ($7.50) for Dan Clarken & Oopy Macgillivray and the widely drawn Chris Waller-trained Panova ($8) who has maestro hoop James McDonald engaged for the ride.
Jamie Melham will partner progressive Brazen Beau filly Mating Call who comes off a confidence boosting win in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes (1800m) here by a half-length on April 11.
Sopressa (2018) was the last filly to complete the Auraria Stakes – Australasian Oaks double and there’s money for Mating Call to be the next.
She’s got some superior form lines from the spring having run a half-length third to Saturday’s favourite Getta Good Feeling in the Group 2 Edward Manifold at Flemington before her credible Group 1 fifth in the Thousand Guineas – so, she looks up to this class.
Panova meanwhile is drawn out in gate 15 and so the daughter of Trapeze Artist will jump one inside the favourite.
Chasing her first win since the Group 3 VRC Carbine Club Stakes at HQ over the Melbourne Cup Carnival, she’s had three unplaced runs this prep and is another Vinery graduate looking to frank the form having finished seventh in her sole run over Saturday’s distance to date.
The 2026 Australasian Oaks is scheduled as Morphettville Race 7 at 4:12pm (ACST) / 4:42pm (AEST) on Saturday’s Adelaide race card.
