The weather in Melbourne today is raining and with more wet weather install across the afternoon there is a chance the current Good (4) Flemington track rating could be downgraded for the later races on the card.

Flemington racing gets underway just after midday at 12:05pm with the nine-race program continuing through until the Listed $140,000 G.H. Mumm Cap D’Antibes Stakes (1100m) at 4:50pm.

Punters are treated to four Group races at the meeting starting early on with the mares doing battle in Race 3 – the Group 2 $200,000 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) where P.B. Lawrence Stakes winner Savatiano ($2.60 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) is tipped to beat star Perth visitor Arcadia Queen ($3.20 @ Ladbrokes.com.au).

Next-up the Group 2 $200,000 Bobbie Lewis Quality field is down to nine starters following the withdrawal of Great Again (10) whose spring is over due to a swelling of the jaw.

The meeting’s marquee event is scheduled as Flemington Race 7 at 3:35pm with field of potential 2020 Cox Plate hopefuls facing off in the Group 1 $750,000 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m).

All 16 original acceptors remain in the Makybe Diva Stakes field, betting for which is now led by the market firmer Fierce Impact ($4 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) chasing a third career Group 1 success.

The penultimate event on the program is another sprint down the famous ‘Straight Six’ with 11 three-year-olds engaged in the Group 2 $200,000 Danehill Stakes including the returning Sydney star Prague ($4.20 @ Ladbrokes.com.au).
