Zingaling claims the win in the last on Rosehill Guineas Day, the 2011 Birthday Card Stakes
An honest four-year-old on the track, Zingaling was first-up for the season in the Birthday Card Stakes and was not rated going out as an $11 outsider in the betting.
Hot favourite in the Rosehill Race 9 odds was Gai Waterhouse’s Triscay Stakes winner Kiss From A Rose at $3.20.
After missing the start, Kiss From A Rose was forced to settle mid-field and although made up a little ground, was never a threat.
It was a similar story for all the backmarkers in the end that failed to let down or challenge.
Best out of the gates was stablemate to the favourite Flying Success who lead early and set the pace.
On the turn for home Lady’s Angel got a beautiful run on the rail and was able to take the front briefly before the field packed up on the straight.
In a fierce battle between the frontrunners there were a number of live chances in the Birthday Card Stakes with the likes of Zingaling, Oakfield Beauty and Lady’s Angel storming home strongly.
In the end it was Zingaling who stole the show going up through the field to give jockey Jim Cassidy another black-type win for the day, just ahead of Lady’s Angel while Flying Success was a fast finishing third.
