Startsmeup will launch his 2011 Australian Guineas campaign at Rosehill on Saturday
A talented field in Saturday’s Cleanevent Handicap, Race 2 at Rosehill, has enticed Queensland trainer Bruce Hill to prove the quality of his gelding.
“There looks to be some depth to the Rosehill race so it should be a decent guide,” Hill said
With only two wins from his 12 starts, Hill was only convinced to chase a Guineas title with Startsmeup after a solid Magic Millions performance where he ran second to Torio’s Quest.
“He was beaten on his merits but against that he does prefer a dry track,” he said.
After being slugged with a 60kg weight for the Rosehill race, usual ride Paul Hammersly has been turfed in favour of apprentice Luke Rolls to take advantage of his 2kg claim.
“I’ve used Luke with a fair bit of success and the horses won’t lose anything,” Hill said.
There will be multiple challengers in the race with Somepin Anypin, a massive 7.5 length last start winner dominating early betting, into as short as $1.75. Also coming off a win Fast Clip sits just under $5 with Startsmeup steady around the $8 mark.
The best markets on the Cleanevent Handicap will be available at Tabcorp owned online bookmaker Luxbet, where you can also receive a free $400 bet by using the pomo code BONUSBET.
