For Trainer Darren Weir, this Saturday?s Sandown Guineas will be a challenge for his two competitors, Disco Summit and Sublimity with Kidnapped the hot favourite for the Group Two event.
Weir?s Disco Summit was runner-up to Kidnapped in the Group Three Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) when he beat the three year old by almost two lengths.
Trained by Peter Snowden, Kidnapped also won the Listed Jayco Stakes proving his ability as a 1400m and 1600m galloper.
For Sublimity, winning the Sandown Guineas will be a great addition to the three year old?s list of victories after winning against fillies over 1400m at Caulfield and again in the Listed Alexandra Stakes (1600m) held on the Cox Plate day.
Although the filly is also entered in the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) on Saturday, her owners are focusing their efforts on the Sandown Guineas and will keep the listed race as a last resort.
On the day Nash Rawiller will ride Disco Summit and Damien Oliver will ride Sublimity after winning aboard her at Moonee Valley.
For Oliver, this could be his fourth Guineas victory after winning with Scenic Warrior (2000), Moon Dragon (2001) and Schilling (2007).
Disco Summit?s race career includes just six starts with two wins and three placings while Sublimity has managed to win three of her four career starts.
