Dating back to 1889, Clare Valley Racecourse is a premier country racetrack which is located 140 km north of Adelaide and just 4km north of Clare. The racetrack itself is square shaped and features a 1450 metre circumference and an extremely short 220 metre straight. This allows horses close to the rail to maintain a position up the front of the pack.
There are two chutes, one for the 1100m and 1200 metre starts and another for the 1700m and the 1800m starts. Clare Valley hosts 4 annual events during the year in February, March, October and November. The venue also hosts the Ladies Race Day, the Clare Valley Easter Races and the April Clare Cup. |
