The 2021 Melbourne Cup results saw an upset with Chris Waller’s reigning Australian Racehorse of the Year Verry Elleegant producing a supreme effort to defeat the short-priced favourite Incentivise by four lengths.

The 2021 Melbourne Cup winner Verry Elleegant took out the 161st edition of the ‘race that stops a nation’ for her 10th Group 1 victory and was given a masterful ride by jockey James McDonald.
The Melbourne Cup 2021 trifecta result saw the Peter Moody-trained Caulfield Cup champion Incentivise hold on for a distant second, while the UK raider Spanish Mission for Andrew Balding ran third.
